HOW KYBELLA® WORKS

The active ingredient in KYBELLA® is synthetic deoxycholic acid. Deoxycholic acid is a naturally occurring molecule in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat. When injected into the fat beneath the chin, KYBELLA®destroys fat cells, resulting in a noticeable reduction in fullness under the chin. Once destroyed, these cells can no longer store or accumulate fat, so further treatment is not expected once you reach your desired aesthetic goal.

WHAT TO EXPECT WITH KYBELLA®

Before starting treatment, your healthcare specialist will examine the area under and around your chin to determine if KYBELLA® is right for you. Then, your specialist will tailor your treatment to the amount of fat under the chin and your aesthetic goals.

How is KYBELLA® administered?

Treatment can only be administered by a KYBELLA®-trained healthcare specialist. At each treatment, you will receive multiple small injections under your chin, and the injection process takes about 15 to 20 minutes. The exact number of injections will depend on the amount of fat you have under your chin and your desired profile.

How many KYBELLA® treatment sessions will I need?

Since everyone’s chin profile is different, the number of treatments varies from patient to patient. Your healthcare specialist will help determine how many treatment sessions you need based on the amount and distribution of your submental fat and your personal treatment goals. Each KYBELLA®treatment session is given at least 1 month apart, and you should not receive more than 6 treatments. In clinical studies, 59% of patients received 6 treatments.

Will I need time to recover?

After KYBELLA® treatment, you will likely have some swelling, bruising, or numbness under your chin. Be sure to inform your healthcare professional if you develop an uneven smile, facial muscle weakness, or difficulty swallowing.

What are the possible side effects of KYBELLA®?

KYBELLA® can cause serious side effects, including nerve injury in the jaw that can temporarily cause an uneven smile or facial muscle weakness (experienced by 4 out of 100 people in clinical studies) and trouble swallowing (experienced by 2 out of 100 people in clinical studies). In clinical studies, nerve injury in the jaw resolved on its own in a median of 44 days (range of 1 to 298 days), and trouble swallowing resolved on its own in a median of 3 days (range of 1 to 81 days).

The most common side effects occur in the treatment area and include:

  • Swelling
  • Bruising
  • Pain
  • Numbness
  • Redness
  • Areas of hardness

Side effects are usually temporary and often resolve on their own.

What should I tell my doctor before treatment?

Before receiving KYBELLA®, tell your healthcare provider about all of your medical conditions, including if you:

  • Have had or plan to have surgery on your face, neck, or chin
  • Have had cosmetic treatments on your face, neck, or chin
  • Have had or have medical conditions in or near the neck area

What is Collagen P.I.N. /(Micro-Needling)?

The Collagen P.I.N. Safety Micro-Needle provides “flawless” results on Face and some body areas. As our skin ages, our collagen production naturally slows down. Micro-needling is a method of introducing a controlled micro wound into the skin triggering a release of natural  Collagen & Elastin and Growth Factors. As a result, the skin’s repair process begins immediately upon treatment and Fibroblasts (the cells that synthesize new collagen) are active for up to one year after just one Collagen P.I.N. treatment. New Collagen and Elastin production results in younger, healthier, plumper, and firmer skin, effectively reducing the appearance of acne scars, wrinkles, and fine lines for an overall better tone and texture.

How Does it work?

Collagen P.I.N. has minimal down time. Immediately after your treatment, your skin will look slightly pink to moderately red.  Depending on your skin’s sensitivity and the extent of treatment, the redness can last for 24-36 hours. You may also have some dryness or flaking 3-4 days after the treatment. Your medical provider will recommend skin care products for your post care based on your individual skin, which will greatly minimize these symptoms and enhance your overall results.

How many treatments will I need?

Most patients see results after the first Collagen P.I.N. treatment. Individual results vary depending on individual skin health. It is most common to begin to see positive results as soon as 1-2 weeks after the first treatment. Optimal results are seen with 3-6 treatments, depending upon your area of correction. Please visit http://inductiontherapies.com/facial-filler-treatments-video/  for more information and videos of the P.I.N. Collagen treatments.

Acne Treatment

Acne therapy through technology by Sciton Lasers

Many of us have been battling acne by using the typical creams and ointments, but now there is an innovative technology that can leave your skin looking clearer and smoother in just a few short weeks.

Acne is a condition that causes inflammation of the skin in the form of clogged pores, pimples, cysts, blackheads and whiteheads. Severe acne can lead to scarring. This new BBL Pulsed Light Technology can be used to improve the appearance of acne scars as well. The BBL Pulsed Light Technology produced from the Sciton Laser dramatically improves skin condition and gives you back the clear complexion you have been striving for.

How Does the Sciton Laser Work?

The Sciton BBL Pulsed Light Treatment destroys acne by heating the sebaceous glands found in the dermis (the upper layers) of the skin, which reduces oil production, which in turn reduces the active acne. This takes place over the course of repeated treatments within 2-4 weeks. This BBL treatment is a controlled pulse given in a high-speed uniform manner with integrated contact cooling; the result of controlling the skin’s surface temperature is for maximum patient comfort.

Acne scarring can also be treated by the Sciton Laser through a procedure called a MicroLaserPeel. This skin resurfacing technique helps to remove the damaged skin layers and allow new healthier skin to emerge.

How many treatments are usually needed?

Studies have shown that for many patients the results for acne reduction can be seen in 4-6 treatments. Most patients receive two treatments per week until their acne clears up. However for most patients six treatments are recommended for optimal results. These results should last about 3 months.

During your initial consultation options for treatments will be discussed to determine the best course of action for achieving your specific goals. You will also discuss your treatment schedule and what results you can expect.

What is a treatment session like?

When you arrive for your acne treatment you will need to put safety goggles or glasses on to protect your eyes. As your doctor begins the procedure you may notice a warming sensation on your skin, many patients describe a snapping sensation very similar to a rubber band snap. This happens as the pulsed light energy is absorbed into the specific treatment areas.

The treatment session will take between 15 and 30 minutes. The length of your procedure will depend on the size of the area being treated, the type of procedure, and how deep the pulsed light needs to penetrate.

What should I expect following a treatment session?

Most patients experience redness following an acne treatment. This will fade within a few hours. Results will vary depending on the type of condition being treated. Your doctor will provide you more detailed information about what to expect following a treatment session.

Since this type of acne therapy is gentle and non-invasive there is little to no downtime and you will be able to continue with your day without missing a step.

What aftercare is required following an acne treatment?

Your doctor will detail your aftercare requirements before beginning your treatments. You may be instructed to use certain skin care products to help minimize any inflammation or redness, as well as to shorten healing time. Your doctor will also provide instructions on how to use any products given.

It is important to remember that your skin will be sensitive to ultra-violet light so you need to avoid direct sunlight until you heal completely. It is also recommended that you use a sunscreen whenever you are in direct sun.
